Harry Smith has a deep fascination with the great outdoors. He enjoys hiking, biking, fishing and kayaking in locations from the rugged Alaskan terrain, all the way to the karst topography of Florida — both areas in which he has spent some time. However, it is no secret that his true passion lies in kayak fishing.
A native of Tallahassee, Florida, Harry has seven years of kayak fishing experience under his belt. He has battled halibut in Alaska’s harsh elements and fought redfish and trout both in and out of the oyster bars that litter North Florida’s never-ending flats. As owner/operator of his guide service, Harry Smith Outdoors, he takes great pride in introducing and teaching newcomers to the quickly-growing sport.
When Harry isn’t on the water or the trails, you can find him editing video footage of his recent adventures. Harry blogs for Tallahassee’s Tourism Development Council (Visit Tallahassee) and the Big Bend Scenic Byway, and is also part of the Apalachicola RiverKeeper.
